John Ross had a heart of gold, said his producer boss and friend Henry Lowenstein. He stood for his principles at all times and was always a professional. John was a gentle, modest person who was always willing to help. A gifted scenic designer, John worked at the Bonfils Theatre in Denver starting in 1976. He designed over 120 productions for the Bonfils. John also created set designs for other theaters. His last design was of a production of “Phantom at the Opera” at The Ascot Dinner Theatre in 1992. After a long, tough fight, John passed away from AIDS in 1993 at the age of 43.
